How to order a domain name and hosting

The first thing to consider when trying to get a new domain name is “if the domain name is available” that is why we encourage people to check the domain availability

How to check domain name availability;

• Visit the Hostlag homepage; Hostlag
• On the homepage, enter your preferred domain name into the search box and click on Get Started

If the domain name you have chosen is not available, then you’ll have to choose another one that’s available keeping in mind the importance of keywords

Once you have a suitable domain name that’s available the next thing to do is to click on the order now button.

Once you click the button you would be redirected to the domain configurations page where you’ll be asked to add hosting, you can either click to add hosting or click on continue at the bottom of the page if it’s only domain name you are planning to order.

But if you wish to add hosting, click on the red button that says [No Hosting! Click to Add] as seen in the screenshot below.

You can as click to select any of the addon services or ignore totally if you don’t need them.

The next thing is the nameservers section, the default nameservers are ns1.hostlag.com and ns2.hostlag.com. You can leave it that way if you will be hosting your website on Hostlag, however, if you plan to host your website somewhere else, you may have to change the nameservers to the nameserver of your host.

If you clicked to add hosting, the next thing is to select hosting plan that suites your business needs.

Once you selected your desired hosting plan the next stage is the configuration, this is where you select your billing circle and what kind of website backup you want, if you want any at all.

Click continue and move to the review and check out page, this is where you fill in your personal info and select payment method

Fill in your correct details, check the checkbox that says “I have read and agree to the Terms of Service” and then proceed to checkout and pay, once check out is complete you’ll be issued a ticket, your domain and hosting will be activated on confirmation of payment.
